Favored by the Tausugs warriors of Sulu, the Barong is unequalled in its' cutting capabilities especially in one to one combat. Measuring 7 inches long, the handle is made of a dark brown hardwood with a 3 ? inch brass ferrule. A brass pin secures the handle to the blade tang and is also glued. The pommel is a small stylized head of cockatoo that flares out and is preferred in sword fights. It comes with a light brown wood scabbard.
